An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government

of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district

located at 800, 810, and 820 8th Street; and 800 8th Avenue and 813 and 821 8th

Street, from LMI (Light Manufacturing / Industrial) District to GC (General

Commercial) District.



THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:



That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the

Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby

amended by changing the following described property from LMI (Light

Manufacturing / Industrial) District to GC (General Commercial) District:



All that lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being in Block 42, Commons,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being Part of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 6 of

said Block 42, being more particularly described as follows:



Beginning at a building corner located at the intersection of the southerly

right-of-way line of 8th Street, said right-of-way being 99 feet in width, and

the easterly right-of-way line of 8th Avenue, said right of way being 99 feet

in width; thence North 89 degrees 29 minutes 00 seconds East along the

southerly right-of-way line of 8th Street a distance of 213.64 feet to an iron

pin set at the westerly limit of the right-of-way now or formerly owned by

Seaboard Coastline Railroad; thence along said right-of-way South 51 degrees 30

minutes 53 seconds West a distance of 267.72 feet to an iron pin set at the

easterly right-of-way line of 8th Avenue; thence along said right-of-way line

North 01 degree 25 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 161.00 feet to the

point of beginning.



And



All that lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being in Block 39, Commons,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being Part of Lots 15 and 16 of said

Block 39, being more particularly described as follows:



Beginning at an iron pin found located at the intersection of the northerly

right-of-way line of 8th Street, said right-of-way being 99 feet in width, and

the westerly right-of-way line of 9th Avenue, said right of way being 99 feet

in width; thence South 89 degrees 29 minutes 00 seconds West along the

northerly right-of-way line of 8th Street a distance of 296.66 feet to an iron

pin set at the easterly right-of-way of 8th Avenue; thence along said

right-of-way North 01 degrees 25 minutes 32 seconds West a distance of 70.00

feet to an iron pin set; thence through Lots 15 and 16, Block 39, Commons,

North 88 degrees 29 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 296.73 feet to an

iron pin set at the westerly right-of-way line of 9th Avenue; thence along said

right-of-way South 01 degree 22 minutes 20 seconds East a distance of 70.00

feet to the point of beginning.

held on the 24th day of October, 2006; introduced a second time at a regular

meeting of said Council held on the day of , 2006 and

adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ____ members of said

Council.
