GRANT PROGRAM:



Authorization is requested to submit an application and, if approved, accept

grant funds from ACCG to cover the cost of hiring one summer intern for upto

160 hours to work in the 311 Citizens Service Center. An agenda report,

II. STATE JUSTICE INSTITUTE GRANT:



Authorization is requested to submit an application and, if approved, accept a

$50,000 grant from the State Justice Institute for funding a Courts Assessment

III. FY2011 GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) - TRANSPORTATION

PLANNING CONTRACT:



Authorization is requested to submit an application and, if approved, accept

$389,077 in federal funds to perform transportation planning activities

throughout the Columbus-Phenix City Urban Area. An agenda report, contract and

IV. FY11 PUBLIC DEFENDER CONTRACT:



Authorization is requested to enter into an agreement for Indigent Defense

Services with the Circuit Public Defender Office of the Chattahoochee Judicial

Circuit in the amount of $1,230,661 from July 2010 to June 2011. An agenda

V. WINN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REHABILITATION OF EXISTING AFFORDABLE RENTAL

HOUSING FOR SENIOR/DISABLED PERSONS - GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS:



Authorization is requested of a resolution supporting Winn Development

Corporation application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for

low-income tax credit financing to rehabilitate existing affordable rental

housing for senior/disabled persons at Columbus Gardens Senior Apartments. An

VI. ENCROACHMENT OF RIGHT-OF-WAY- MILGEN ROAD MCDONALD'S:



Authorization is requested to consider approving a permanent encroachment on

the Lakeshore Drive Cul-De-Sac right-of-way. The Milgen Road McDonald's

Restaurant requested authorization to construct a portion of a new drive-thru

lane and cul-de-sac right-of-way on Lakeshore Drive. An agenda report, maps

VII. PERMANENT ENCROACHMENT - OMEGA FINANCIAL, INC:



Authorization is requested to execute a Land Lease Agreement with Omega

Financial, Inc., located at 1242 6th Avenue to improve and use the 13th Street

right-of-way underneath the 13th Street Viaduct for off street parking. An

VIII. STREET ACCEPTANCE - THAT PORTION OF KITTEN LAKE DRIVE LOCATED IN PHASE

ONE OF KITTEN LAKE:



Authorization is requested to accept a deed to that portion of Kitten Lake

Drive located in Phase One of Kitten Lake. The Department of Engineering has

inspected this street and recommends the acceptance. An agenda report, map and

resolution are attached.

The Columbus Consolidated Government (the City) is seeking proposals for a

vendor to provide software for the scale system at two (2) inert landfills and

one (1) Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) landfill in Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia. The software will track every aspect of landfill transactions.

The work primarily involves clearing, grubbing, grading, and construction of a

walkway at grade as depicted on the drawings. The bidder is required to be

The District Attorney?s Office desires to purchase a high-density mobile filing

system for the storage of criminal files and a secure lockable storage system

for confidential materials.

1. 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge ? RFB No. 11-0002

Scope of Bid

Provide renovations of an existing bridge structure spanning the Chattahoochee

River at 14th Street into a pedestrian (only) bridge. The work will include

structural repairs, remediation and modifications of the existing concrete and

earthen bridge and its foundation.
