MINUTES # 48-06



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, December 20,

2006, at 1:30PM with Chairman William Braxton, Assessors Lawton E. Grantham

Jr. and Ann Grantham present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Betty J.

Middleton. Assessor Richard Stallings and Assessor Pat Hunter were excused.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes # 47-06, Assessor Lawton

Grantham seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously



The Board approved assessment corrections for real estate.



The Board of Tax Assessors approved two Development Authority Bond Letters for

2006.



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:



Multiple Years Map Splits: 1



Met with Personal Property Division Chief Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved

the following:



Assessment Corrections: 2(-)



Pers Prop Div Chief Oliver Juhan updated the Board about an appeal for which

the taxpayer has an appointment to meet with the Board next week. After

discussion Pers Prop Div Chief Oliver Juhan presented the information the

taxpayer had submitted. Assessor Lawton Grantham made a motion to accept the

2006 value submitted. Assessor Ann Grantham seconded the motion; motion

carried. Also Assessor Lawton Grantham made a motion to accept the 2004 and

2005 values of the appraisal submitted by Stateline Marine to settle the

pending court case if approved by the City Attorney. Assessor Ann Grantham

seconded the motion; motion carried.
