AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ?OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA? BY DELETING A SEGMENT OF WHITESVILLE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AND DECLARING
SAID SEGMENT OF RIGHT-OF-WAY SURPLUS; SAID SEGMENT OF RIGHT-OF-WAY IS IN FRONT
OF 5729 WHITESVILLE ROAD CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 547 SQUARE FEET MORE
SPECIFICALLY DEFINED BY SURVEY ENTITLED ?PART OF WHITESEVILLE ROAD
RIGHT-OF-WAY? DATED OCTOBER 10, 2006 BY MOON, MEEKS, MASON & VINSON, INC. AND
MADE PART OF THIS ORDINANCE BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING THAT ALL EXISTING UTILITY
EASEMENTS OF RECORD REMAIN IN EFFECT AND PROVIDING APPROPRIATE WIDTH AS
REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANIES WILL BE RESERVED FOR UNKNOWN
UTILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
CITY CODE; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That the ?Official Street Map, City of Columbus, Georgia? is hereby amended by
deleting the following portion of right-of-way located in front of 5729
Whitesville Road:
Beginning at the intersection of the southern right of way line miter of North
Avenue and the western right of way line of Whitesville Road, running thence
southward along the eastern right of way line of Whitesville Road a distance of
201.85 feet to a point, which is the point of beginning for the property
here-in described; continuing thence South 28 degrees 48 minutes 27 seconds
East a distance of 33.70 feet to a point; running thence South 62 degrees 02
minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 16.52 feet to a point; running thence
North 27 degrees 56 minutes 14 seconds West a distance of 33.62 feet to a
point; running thence North 61 degrees 44 minutes 46 seconds East to a point,
which is the point of beginning. Said right-of-way segment is shown on a plat
by Moon, Meeks, Mason and Vinson, Inc. titled ?Right of Way Survey, Part of
Whitesville Road Right of Way Lying in Land Lot 56, 8th District, Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia?; Dated 10 October 2006 and made part of this
ordinance by reference.
SECTION II.
That the segment of right-of-way described herewithin Section I is herby
declared surplus property for disposal in accordance with the City Code and no
longer needed for roadway purposes.
SECTION III.
Providing that all existing utility easements of record remain in effect and
providing appropriate width as required by applicable utility companies shall
be reserved for unknown utilities.
SECTION IV.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
31st day of October 2006; introduced a second time at a regular meeting of
said Council held on the ____ day of ____, 2006 and adopted at said meeting by
the affirmative vote of _____ members of Council.
