SUBJECT: Columbus Lions - Lease Agreement
INITIATED BY: Columbus Civic Center
Recommendation: Approval is requested to enter into a three-year Lease
Agreement with Columbus Indoor Football Team, LLC d/b/a Columbus Lions.
Background: The Columbus Lions located in Columbus starting in 2007. The
league provides an alternative recreational source for the city of Columbus in
the form of arena football.
Analysis: The Columbus Lions Football League plays seven (7) home games
between April and August. The games provide additional revenue for the
Columbus Civic Center.
Financial Considerations: The Columbus Lions will pay $3,500 in rent for each
home game plus other financial considerations as outlined in the lease
agreement.
Legal Considerations: Any lease agreement involving this City requires Council
approval.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested for the City Manager to
enter into a Lease agreement with Columbus Indoor Football Team, LLC, d/b/a/
Columbus Lions.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A THREE YEAR LEASE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER AND THE COLUMBUS LIONS.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Indoor Football LLC, d/b/a the Columbus Lions has agreed
to provide professional indoor football at the Columbus Civic Center.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Lions and the Columbus Civic Center shall uphold the
recommended lease agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a three-year Lease
Agreement between the Columbus Civic Center and the Columbus Lions as outlined
in the attached agreement.
