BOARD OF HONOR
Meeting
May 19, 2010
Members Present: Mr. Bob Hydrick, Mr. John J. Rodgers, Mr. John Wells, Mr.
Billy Watson and Superior Court Judge Bobby G. Peters.
Members Absent: Judge Clay Land and Mr. Milton Hirsch.
Mailouts: Proclamation provided by Mayor Wetherington and read by Councilor
Henderson proclaiming February 25, 2010 as ?Mr. Leo Lewis Day?.
Chairman Mr. Bob Hydrick called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m. in the
Council Chambers Conference Room, Plaza Level, Government Center. There was a
quorum present for the meeting.
Request: Naming a field at the Woodruff Farms Soccer Complex in honor of the
late Mr. Leo Lewis:
Mr. Hirsch asked if the members had an opportunity to review the information on
Mr. Leo Lewis in the proclamation that was presented in February 2010 and sent
as a mail out to the members. After confirmation of review, Mr. Wells moved
approval of the request. Seconded by Mr. Watson and carried unanimously by
those five members present for this meeting.
Request: Naming the new city service building in honor of the late Mr. J. R.
Allen:
Deputy Clerk of Council Davis asked if the members wanted to address the naming
of the new city service building. There was some discussion regarding the
offices and services that would be housed in the new building. It was then
determined that the original decision to defer this matter was most appropriate
at this time. No further action was taken on the naming of the new city
service building.
There being no other business to discuss, this meeting adjourned at 3:22 p.m.
