Background: The Department of Information Technology has developed modernized
policies relating to the use of computing technologies within the Columbus

After considerable research and study of policy from similar organization, the

the policies and feel they are professionally acceptable. Draft copies have
also been circulated to Department Heads and Elected Officials for their

accepted practices and to be effective in the modern technology environment
policies regarding technologies need to be updated.
