Agenda Item # 3
Columbus Consolidated Government
Council Meeting
March 13, 2018
Agenda Report # 89
TO: Mayor and Council
SUBJECT: Image Trend Hosting
INITIATED BY: Columbus Fire and EMS Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested to authorize the transition of the
Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services from city hosted to allowing
Image Trend to host incident report data for a cost of $19,800 approved through
FY18 OLOST.
Background: Funds have been allocated through the FY18 OLOST for the transition
to Image Trend hosting data from fire reports and patient care reports
generated by the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (CFEMS).
The transition will allow for timelier updates, ensure higher security for
reports, and allow for a more seamless support experience. Image trend will be
able to monitor errors received in real time; therefore, greatly reducing the
amount of time taken to make necessary corrections and prevent data compromise
or loss.
Analysis: Approval by council for use of OLOST monies to fund transition.
Financial Considerations: The monies will be used to purchase the initial
migration. Future annual support funds will be added to the current annual
support costs.
Legal Considerations: The Columbus Council is authorized to approve the use of
funds for the transition to Image Trend hosting out of the FY18 OLOST.
Recommendation/Action: Authorize the migration to Image Trend hosting Fire and
Emergency Medical Services incident report data, and authorize the City Manager
to execute any necessary amendment to the contract between the City and Image
Trend, Inc..
