An Ordinance amending Section 9-13 of the Columbus Code pertaining to
cemetery fees, and for other purposes.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section 9-13 of the Columbus Code is repealed in its entirety and
replaced with a new Section 9-13 to read as follows:
Sec. 9-13. - Grave opening and closing and recording fees.
The Cemetery Sextant shall receive the following grave opening and closing fees
as well as application / recording fees as listed:
Monday Through Friday Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays
(a)? For all interments approved by the superintendent of cemeteries:
(1)?Infants (up to 1 year of age) $350.00 $450.00
(2)?Children (1?5 years of age) $550.00 $650.00
(3)?Adults (includes children over 5 years of age) $900.00 $1,150.00
(b)?With Ash Container. When interments are made of cremation ashes: $300.00
$500.00
(c) Application and Recording Fee $25.00 $25.00
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 2016, and all prior
inconsistent Ordinances shall be repealed as of the July 1, 2016 date.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia,
held on the 7th day of June, 2016; introduced a second time at a regular
meeting held on the 14th day of June, 2016 and adopted at said meeting by the
affirmative vote of members of said Council.
