MINUTES OF THE MEETING 
   	OF   
 	THE ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD       
 The ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD met TUESDAY, April 12, 2011, at 2:30 P.M. at    
 the Animal Care & Control Center.

 	CALL TO ORDER       
 Kathy McCarley called the meeting to order at 2:30 P.M.       
 Kathy McCarley presented the minutes of the last meeting; Tom Bryan moved they    
 be approved as written; Virginia Norman seconded; approval was unanimous.       
 Kathy McCarley introduced Tracy Dean, a future board member for Paws, to the    
 board and asked each member to introduce themselves       
 Kathy McCarley stated that this meeting was a follow up of the Work Session the    
 board had on February 17, 2011.       
 Kathy McCarley passed out literature of other counties on adoption and    
 miscellaneous fees.       
 Chris Brown went over recent procedures and policy changes made at ACC; picture    
 taking, euthanizia, adoption request list, return call log and the dead animal    
 pickup log. He informed the board how these policy changes have helped with    
 adoptions, better communication and better tracking of the animals.       
 The board discussed situations that could require animal owners to Micro-chip    
 their animals.  One suggestion was maybe talk with the Judge of Environmental    
 Court.       
 Chris Brown informed the board that the first thing to do is get legal    
 consideration from the City Attorney before trying to move forward.       
 Jo McDaniel motioned that the board meet quarterly; Kathy McCarley seconded;    
 the vote was unanimous (ordinance states minimum of 2 board meetings annually).       
 The board discussed ways to guide citizens to the Animal Control Website.       
 Dr. Brook Glass informed the board that the Chattahoochee Veterinary    
 Association was being resurrected.       
 Gary Stickles announced his retirement in June 2011.       
 Kathy McCarley adjourned the meeting at 4:00 PM
