AN ORDINANCE

An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 2285, 2300, and 2312 Whittlesey Road from NC (Neighborhood
Commercial) and LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) Zoning Districts to GC
(General Commercial) Zoning District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Department is hereby
amended by changing the aforementioned property from NC (Neighborhood
Commercial) and LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) Zoning Districts to GC
(General Commercial) Zoning District:
All that lot, tract, or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia, in the 8th District of said County and comprising
part of Land Lot 57 and Part of Land Lot 58 of said 8th District and more
particularly described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at a point where the northwesterly right-of-way line of the Central
of Georgia Railroad Co. intersects with the southern right-of-way line of
Whittlesey Road, thence running in a southwesterly direction along the
northwestern right-of-way line of Central of Georgia Railroad Co. to a point
where the said railroad's northwestern right-of-way line intersects with the
eastern right-of-way line of Interstate-185, thence running in a northerly
direction along the eastern right-of-way line of Interstate-185 to a point
where the eastern right-of-way line of Interstate-185 intersects with the
southern right-of-way line of Whittlesey Road, thence running in an easterly
direction along the southern right-of-way line of Whittlesey Road to the point
of beginning; said entire tract of land being approximately 2.5 acres in area
and triangular in shape and bounded on the north by the southerly right-of-way
line of Whittlesey Road, on the east by the northwestern right-of-way line of
the Central of Georgia Railroad Co. and on the west by the eastern right-of-way
line of Interstate-185.
The above-described property is being rezoned subject to the following
condition:
Buffer requirements along the east and west property lines shall be
waived.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia
held on the 7th day of June, 2016; introduced a second time at a regular
meeting of said Council held on the ______ day of ____________, 2016 and
adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of members of said
Council.
