RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the Columbus, Georgia Board of Honor has met in regular session on
April 17, 2013 to consider a request for naming the 14th Street Pedestrian
Bridge in honor and memory of the late Mayor Frank. K. Martin;
WHEREAS, the Board of Honor voted to recommend the naming of the 14th Street
Pedestrian Bridge in honor and memory of the late Mayor Frank K. Martin;
WHEREAS, this Council concurs with recommendation of the Board of Honor and
desires to name the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge in honor and memory of the
late Mayor Frank K. Martin.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby designate the existing 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge in Columbus,
Georgia as the Mayor Frank K. Martin Memorial Bridge and authorize the Director
of the Department of Public Works to install appropriate markers bearing this
name. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Sam Wellborn, Georgia
Department of Transportation Board Member, the Historic Chattahoochee
Commission, the Historic Columbus Foundation and the family of the late Mayor
Frank K. Martin.
