Sub: Board of Honor Recommendations ? Honorary Street Designations
At the request of Councilors Barnes and Huff, a request was sent back to
the Board of Honor requesting that the board establish a policy with regards to
Honorary Street Designations, to determine whether a block or the entire street
be named in honor of an individual. The board recommended the following: ?to
state that if someone is being honored for contribution to a specific place on
the street, we name the block in front of the place, but if the person is being
honored for their contributions to the entire neighborhood, then we name the
whole street.?
We have attached the minutes from the Board meeting, which outlines the
recommendation of the board.
