RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Columbus State University Lady Cougars basketball team recently
won the Peach Belt Conference Tournament crown;
WHEREAS, the Lady Cougars defeated Georgia College by a score of 60-49 to win
the championship;
WHEREAS, the Lady Cougars finished their successful season with a record of
21-7;
WHEREAS, the Lady Cougars will be the fifth seed in the Southeast Regional NCAA
Division II tournament, which will be hosted by No. 1 seed Lenoir-Rhyne in
Hickory, North Carolina;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus State University Lady Cougars are
worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus State
University Lady Cougars basketball team upon their victory in the Peach Belt
Conference tournament: Dee Dee Deshazer, Kristen Kennebrew, Ariel Johnson,
Britteny Tatum, Brea Walker, Kim Blake, Tae Smith, Ashley Asouzu, Mary McCarty,
Asha Alexander, Kayla Richards, Chatil Bradford, Carrie Washington, Michelle
Montgomery, Colleen Gottfried, Manager Jeffery Johnson, Student Assistant Coach
Kiersten Reid, Assistant Coach Quacy Barnes-Timmons and Head Coach Jonathan
Norton. Columbus is proud of their accomplishments and we wish them every
success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
above-named participants.
