SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Thrush Drive, Nuthatch Court and
that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in Section Two, Wrenwood
INITIATED BY: Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Thrush
Drive, Nuthatch Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in Section
Two, Wrenwood. No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after
the two-year warranty.
Background: Thrush Drive, Nuthatch Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive
located in Section Two, Wrenwood has Thirty-four (34) residential lots. The
streets have been improved and meets the specifications for acceptance by the
City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Thrush Drive, Nuthatch
Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in Section Two, Wrenwood. A
description of property is as follows: All of those tracts or parcels of land
designated as all of Nuthatch Court, all of Thrush Drive and the extension of
Wren Creek Drive which are shown upon a map or plat of survey entitled "Section
Two, Wrenwood Subdivision, Part of Land Lot 63, 9th District, Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated
December 22, 2015, and recorded in Plat Book 165, Folio 23, in the Office of
the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to which reference is
made for the exact location of said streets conveyed hereby.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
Thrush Drive, Nuthatch Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in
Section Two, Wrenwood. No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed
after the two-year warranty.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THRUSH DRIVE,
NUTHATCH COURT AND THAT PORTION OF WREN CREEK DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION TWO,
WRENWOOD ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Thrush
Drive, Nuthatch Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in Section
Two, Wrenwood, a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required
specifications for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and
recommends acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated May 19, 2016, conveying to Columbus, Georgia,
Thrush Drive, Nuthatch Court and that portion of Wren Creek Drive located in
Section Two, Wrenwood, and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council
is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the
Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is
hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
