Notice of Interest (NOI)

Fact Sheet



The following list of Notice of Interest were received by the Local

Redevelopment Agency (City of Columbus) prior to the September 15, 2006

deadline.



Department of Parks & Recreation (City of Columbus)

The Department of Parks & Recreation would consolidate all the

administrative office of thedepartment under one roof. This would provide a

centralized location for meetings, coach certifications, rentals and

registration of the wide array of sports activities.



Veteran Upward Bound Program

In partnership with the Kappa Alpha PSI Fraternity, Inc., the Veteran

Upward Bound Program will serve veterans from all walks of life and will be

funded by the Department of Education. It is anticipated this program will be

able to serve over 120 Veterans. The Upward Bound Program is designed to

assist veterans to prepare for a program of postsecondary education. The goal

of the Program is to encourage enrollment in post-secondary education and to

develop the skills and motivation necessary for success in that environment

among low-income, first-generation military veterans.



Enrichment Services Program, Inc.

The intended use of the facility is to serve as the headquarters for

the Enrichment Services Program, Inc. The majority of the services offered by

Enrichment Services Program are administered at various locations throughout

Muscogee County. However, there will be limited services administered from

this location. These services will include Energy Assistance, Emergency

Assistance, Job Skills Training, Commodity Distribution and Nurse Aid Training.



Muscogee County Marshal?s Office

The property would be primarily used for the Field Service Units to

have a central location to report. This facility has the necessary space to

accommodate a briefing room, training room, storage space, and a secure

property and evidence room to store departmental items. The building would

also house the Junior Marshal Program, the West Central Traffic Enforcement

Network (WCTEN) Network Coordinator, and a possible site for an alternate

Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for the Office of Homeland Security.



Fellowship Deliverance Ministries, Inc. (FDM)

The proposed use of the facility is to provide sheltering and

rehabilitation of homeless persons. The provision of emergency shelter to

homeless person ? inclusive offerings of food, bedding and clothing- with the

option of joining FDM?s Transitional Housing Program, that will have as it?s

goal the positioning and securing of permanent housing for each client.



Columbus State University

- Notified of a NOI submitted through the US Department of Education.

- University?s Criminal Justice program provides law enforcement

training for agencies through the Regional Police Academy.

- The ROTC Program is need of expanded availability for classess and

training exercises.

- Growth in both credit classes through the Department of Art and

non-credit through Continuing Education have demonstrated need for additional

space for programs such as ceramic, sculpture and printmaking.



Georgia Department of Education

Notified of a NOI submitted through the US Department of Education.
