Naming a field at the Woodruff Farms Soccer Complex 'Leo Lewis Field' in
his honor.
WHEREAS, Leo Lewis is widely recognized in the Columbus Youth Soccer
Association for his service in numerous positions which help promote youth
soccer in Columbus; and
WHEREAS, Some of the positions he has held are as recreational coach, Red
Star coach, camp coach, indoor soccer coach, referee, tournament director for
dozens of tournaments, President of the CYSA Board, member of the Red Star
Board, and Assistant Director of the 1998 USYSA Regional III Championships; and
WHEREAS, Leo was instrumental in securing funds and getting the land
approved to build the new fields seven through eleven at Woodruff Farm Road
Soccer Complex in 1996 and 1997, and was very instrumental in bringing
professional level soccer coaching to Columbus; and
WHEREAS, Leo has touched thousands of children and parents through his
dedication to soccer in Columbus, always giving from the heart, in any way he
can, and always with a big smile; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby name a field at Woodruff Farms Soccer Complex ?The Leo Lewis
Field? in memory of Mr. Leo Lewis, and authorize the appropriate marker bearing
this name.
Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Leo Lewis.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held
on the 25th day of May, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
vote of ______ members of Council.
