The current term of office of Dr. Banks Carroll expired on December 31,
2011.
Dr. Carroll has served two full terms of office since being appointed to
this board and is not eligible for reappointment. All members are appointed by
the Council.
A letter submitted by Dr. Carroll is recommending Dr. Rajinder Chhokar as
his replacement and is attached for your perusal.
Also, we have enclosed a copy of the data sheet on this board, as well as,
a list of the current board members.

COMPOSITION OF BOARD: Seven members, one of whom shall be the Mayor of
Columbus, one of which shall be the City Manager of Columbus and two of which

QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: Must be residents of Columbus. See also, Sec.
2-3.02 (a) Col. Code for general qualifications of all boards.

Charge/Mission: This board is responsible for the operation of the Columbus
Department of Public Health. It has seven (7) members, two (2) of which must be
licensed and practicing physicians and three other citizens members, all of
which are appointed by the Columbus Council. The Mayor and the City Manager
