SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - A portion of Essex Heights Trail located
in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to a
portion of Essex Heights Trail located in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights.
Background: A portion of Essex Heights Trail located in Section Three,
Wooldridge Heights has Thirteen (13) residential lots. The street has been
improved and has met the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying a portion of Essex
Heights Trail located in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights. A description of
the property is as follows: All that lot, tract and parcel of land situate,
lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and comprising of the
remainder of Essex Heights Trail from the existing right of way in that certain
subdivision known as Section Three, Wooldridge Heights, as said street is shown
upon a map or plat of said subdivision entitled "Section Three Wooldridge
Heights", dated March 5, 2013, made by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of a portion of Essex Heights
Trail located in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO A PORTION OF ESSEX HEIGHTS
TRAIL LOCATED IN SECTION THREE, WOOLDRIDGE HEIGHTS ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying a portion of
Essex Heights Trial located in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights, a full
description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated April 12, 2013, conveying to Columbus, Georgia,
a portion of Essex Heights Trail located in Section Three, Wooldridge Heights,
be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized
to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached and by
this reference made a part of this resolution.
