A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, SISTERS, Inc. recently sponsored the annual Rosa Parks Women of
Courage breakfast in Columbus;
WHEREAS, this year?s honorees were Nancy Boren, Executive Director of the
Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registration, Lisa Goodwin, Deputy City
Manager and Joyce Dent-Fitzpatrick of the Columbus Police Department;
WHEREAS, the event is an annual tribute to the legacy of Rosa Parks and
proceeds from the program will be used to fund activities for the youth in the
Chattahoochee Valley area, to provide scholarships to area high school seniors
and to support services which enhance the growth of our community;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the 2010 Women of Courage are worthy of special
recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Nancy Boren, Executive Director of the
Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registration, Lisa Goodwin, Deputy City
Manager and Joyce Dent-Fitzpatrick of the Columbus Police Department upon their
selection by SISTERS, Inc. as 2010 Women of Courage. Columbus is proud of
their accomplishments and we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy
of this resolution be forwarded to Nancy Boren, Lisa Goodwin, and Joyce
Dent-Fitzpatrick.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
23rd day of March, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
