The Board of Honor at its meeting of February 15, 2012, approved the
request to name a field in South Commons in honor of Mr. Charles Wright.
The Board of Honor minutes are listed on the Clerk?s Agenda for your
review. If the desire is to move forward with this recommendation; then, the
next step would be for a member of Council to call for a resolution.
Also at this meeting, the members wanted to suggest that Council consider
putting a time specific limit on how long the field would retain the name of a
person being honored (maybe 15 years). With there being a limited number of
fields to be named, the concern is that the city could reach a point that there
would be no more fields to name.
