Call to Order: Elizabeth Barker, Chair, called the meeting to order at 3:30
p.m.
Approval of Minutes & Treasurer?s Report: Paul Pierce presented the minutes
from the August Board meeting for approval. Dhan Parekh made a motion to
accept the minutes as presented. Charlie Desai seconded the motion, a vote was
taken and the motion passed. Mr. Pierce then presented the August financials
for approval. Ken Johnson made a motion to accept the financials as
presented. John Miller seconded the motion, a vote was taken and the motion
passed.
Chair?s Report????????????Elizabeth Barker
? CVB Annual Audit?Auditors from Robinson, Grimes have completed the field work
and results of audit will be presented at the next Board meeting.
? Pemberton Exhibit---The Design Group has finished the display located in the
Visitors Center.
? Board Retreat---The CCVB Board Retreat will be held on Wednesday, October 9,
from 9:00 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. Judy Randal with Randall Travel will be the
facilitator. The Retreat will be in place of the monthly Board meeting.

? Ft. Benning Hotel Super Hotel Marketing Strategy?update?Key points of
discussion:
? Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce conducting a discovery of facts on the
hotel.
? A letter drafted and approved by the CCVB Board (Paul Pierce made a motion to
accept draft. John Miller seconded the motion, a vote was taken and the motion
passed see attachment.) Letter to be sent to various public, government and
military offices urging them not to open the hotel to the general public but
restrict it to military families, retired and active duty personnel.
? The CCVB has launched a web site www.visitfortbenning.com as a proactive move
for visitors who google Fort Benning directing them to Columbus? hotels and
attractions.
? Collaborate Summit?Oct 9-10, 2013
