A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO OPERATE A CHURCH IN EXCESS OF
250 SEATS AT 2300 MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, Lewis Memorial Baptist Church has appropriately applied for a Special
Exception Use to construct a church in excess of 250 seats on the subject
property; and,
WHEREAS, churches in excess of 250 seats are permitted solely as a Special
Exception Use under the current GC (General Commercial) District; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Division has reviewed the request and recommends approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That all the criteria of Section 10.2.7.B have been met and that a
Special Exception Use for a church in excess of 250 seats be granted for the
property at 2300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
