SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Sable Oaks Drive
located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that
portion of Sable Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland.
Background: That portion of Sable Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve,
Sable Oaks of Midland has Thirteen (13) residential lots. The street has been
improved and meets the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of Sable
Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland. A description of
property is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of land designated as (an
extension of) Sable Oaks Drive as shown upon a map or plat entitled "Section
Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland, Part of Land Lot 27, 18th District, Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated July
12, 2015, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Folio 272, in the Office of the Clerk
of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of a deed to that portion of
Sable Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF SABLE OAKS
DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION TWELVE, SABLE OAKS OF MIDLAND ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Sable Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland, a full
description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated October 2, 2015, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, that
portion of Sable Oaks Drive located in Section Twelve, Sable Oaks of Midland,
and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to
have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached and by
this reference made a part of this resolution.
