SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Cal Court located in Sears Pond
South
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Cal
Court located in Sears Pond South.
Background: Cal Court located in Sears Pond South has Eleven (11)
residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the specifications for
acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Cal Court located
Sears Pond South. A description of property is as follows: All that lot, tract
or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Land Lots 8 & 9 of the 9th
District of Columbus, Muscogee County Georgia, designated as "Cal Court" as
shown upon a map or plat entitled "Sears Pond South, " prepared by A.B. Moon,
Jr., Ga. R.L.S. No. 782, of Moon Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., dated June 16,
2014, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Folio 134, in the Office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of Cal Court located in Sears
Pond South.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO CAL COURT LOCATED IN SEARS
POND SOUTH ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Cal Court
located in Sears Pond Court, a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meet the required specifications for
acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated September 30, 2014, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, Cal
Court located in Sears Pond South, and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk
of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records
in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A
copy is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
