A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the Columbus/Chattahoochee Valley Alzheimer?s Association is holding
its 2009 Columbus Memory Walk on Saturday October 24, 2009;
WHEREAS, the Memory Walk is being held at Brookstone School this year and the
2009 goal is to raise $78,000;
WHEREAS, approximately 200,000 Georgians are currently fighting Alzheimer?s
disease, with 18,000 located in the Columbus/Chattahoochee Valley Region;
WHEREAS, nearly 50 teams and over 400 registered walkers will participate in
the 2009 Memory Walk event;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of local Alzheimer?s Association Board members
Murray Jones (Chair), Joe Robbins, Jennifer Kelley, Kent Butler, Jaime Lemieux,
Lori Denson, Ann Oliver, Stacey Leebern, Sam Warren, Kay Saunders, Monica
Pierce, Jeannie Pierson, Elizabeth Smithwick, Aimee Staley and Director
Christina Vogler are worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate local Alzheimer?s Association Board members
Murray Jones (Chair), Joe Robbins, Jennifer Kelley, Kent Butler, Jaime Lemieux,
Lori Denson, Ann Oliver, Stacey Leebern, Sam Warren, Kay Saunders, Monica
Pierce, Jeannie Pierson, Elizabeth Smithwick, Aimee Staley and Director
Christina Vogler upon a successful 2009 Memory Walk to benefit the
Columbus/Chattahoochee Valley Region Alzheimer?s Association. Columbus is proud
of their accomplishments and we wish them every success in the future. Let a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.

27th day of October, 2009, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
