An ordinance amending Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code so as to designate the
Council of Columbus, Georgia as the common redevelopment agency pursuant to
O.C.G.A. Section 36-44-4; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
The Columbus Code is hereby amended by adding a new Section 2-66 to
read as follows:
?Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 36-44-4, the Council of Columbus, Georgia
is hereby designated as the common redevelopment agency for Columbus, Georgia
and may exercise all redevelopment powers authorized by O.C.G.A. Title 36,
Chapter 44. Concurrently, the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia is
hereby delegated authority to perform various functions and duties required by
the Redevelopment Powers Law on behalf of the Council of Columbus, Georgia
except for those functions which are prohibited from delegation by O.C.G.A.
?36-44-6(b). The specific functions and duties to be delegated will be set
forth in a Memorandum of Understanding to be entered into between Columbus,
Georgia and the Development Authority of Columbus.?
SECTION 2.
The attached Policies and Guidelines for use in reviewing plans for
redevelopment areas and tax allocation districts are hereby approved and
adopted.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.

13th day of October, 2015, introduced a second time at a regular meeting of
