I. Call to orderDr. Carroll called the Columbus Board of Health to order at

1:00pm.NoneNone

II. Approval of MinutesDr. Carroll asked if there were any questions or

comments on the previous minutes received. (March 25, 2009) Dr. Carroll asked

for a motion to approve the minutes. A motion was made by Dr. Jarrell, seconded

by Mr. Hugley and approved by those members present. None

III. Excused AbsencesDr. Carroll stated there are two Excused Absences for the

meeting. Dr. James Lawrence and Mrs. Dozier are both out of town. Dr. Carroll

asked for a motion to approve the Excused Absences. A motion was made by Dr.

Jarrell, seconded by Mr. Hugley and approved by those members present.None

IV. Financial ReportDr. Carroll asked Joanne Strickland to present the

financial report to the Board.Ms. Strickland stated that the financials are on

target and there are no issues.None

VIII. District Health Director?s ReportDr. Carroll asked Dr. Koppanyi for the

Director?s Report. Dr. Koppanyi stated that after May lst there will be more

information from the Governor?s office regarding the final decisions that have

been made. Dr. Koppanyi stated that with the upcoming change with Public Health

moving over to Community Health the Babies Can?t Wait Program will go with

Public Health. Also, District Child Health will receive an 8% GIA budget cut in

the next FY 2010. Also stated, the school nurse positions have been restored in

the school systems for the State. Mr. Hugley stated that Mayor Wetherington

would be discussing the City Budget on April 28th for any future changes that

will be noted. NoneNone

IX. Nursing Report Dr. Carroll asked Ms. Mayfield for the Nursing Report.

Ms. Mayfield stated that Immunization Week is going to begin on Monday, April

27 and end on Friday, May lst. Ms. Mayfield stated that with the lack of

nursing staff it will be challenging to service the expected attendance.

X. Environmental HealthDr. Carroll asked Christy Kuriatnyk for the

Environmental Health Report. Ms. Kuriatnyk stated there would be a rabies

clinic next month held in the Columbus Civic Center parking area. Mr. Hugley

stated that the rabies clinic that is much appreciated and is essential for the

community. NoneNone

XI. PresentationDr. Carroll called on Sheila Mayfield, Nursing Administration

to present the presentation to the Board. There was a brief discussion

regarding teen health. Ms. Mayfield asked the Board Members to tour the Teen

Health Center at its new location which is across from the Health and Human

Services Building. NoneNone

XII. AdjournedWith no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned by

Dr. Carroll, Chairman. All members present were in favor. NoneNone
