SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Antietam Drive located in

Section Five, Lexington Hills



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington Hills.



Background: That portion of Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington

Hills has two (2) residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the

required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington Hills. A description of the

property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and

being in Land Lot 5 of the 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia,

and shown as Extension of Antietam Drive as said road and public right-of-way

are shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Five, Lexington Hills, Part of

Land Lot 5, 7th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared by

Hobbs Smith & Associates, Inc., dated December 10, 2009, said plat recorded in

Plat Book 162, pages 212, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington Hills.























A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF ANTIETAM

DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION FIVE, LEXINGTON HILLS, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington Hills, a full description of

property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 7, 2010, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Antietam Drive located in Section Five, Lexington Hills be and

the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have

said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this resolution.
