SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Forest Crown Drive and

that portion of Forest Crown Lane located in Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy

Park



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept a deed to that portion of

Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest Crown Lane located in Section

Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park. The Department of Engineering has inspected this

street and recommends the acceptance.



Background: That portion of Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest

Crown Lane located in Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park has twelve (12)

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest Crown Lane located in Section

Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park. A description of property is as follows: All those

lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Part of Land Lot 234, of

the 19th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Forest

Crown Lane and that portion of Forest Crown Drive Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy

Park, as said roads and rights-of-way are shown on the map or plat entitled

"Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park, Part of Land Lot 234, 19th District,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" prepared by Hobbs, Smith & Assoc., Inc.,

dated February 16, 2010, said plat recorded in Plat Book 162, Page 209, in the

Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest Crown Lane located in

Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park.

















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF FOREST

CROWN DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF FOREST CROWN LANE LOCATED IN SECTION NINE,

PHASE ONE, IVY PARK, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest Crown Lane located in Section

Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 19, 2010, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Forest Crown Drive and that portion of Forest Crown Lane

located in Section Nine, Phase One, Ivy Park be and the same is hereby

accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded

in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a

part of this resolution.
