SUBJECT: Quit Claim 601, 605, 611 Veterans Parkway and 311 and 315 6th
Street to Neighborworks Columbus, Inc.

Recommendation: Approval is requested to quit claim the properties located at
601, 605, 611 Veterans Parkway and 311 and 315 6th Street to Neighborworks
Columbus, Inc. per the contract entered into in 2014 for the administration of
an owner-occupied rehab program.
Background: On January 14, 2014, Per Resolution 38-14 City Council approved
the City Manager entering into a contract with Neighborworks Columbus, Inc. to
administer an owner-occupied rehab program valued up to $220,000 for low-income
residents of the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia. In exchange for
administering and funding this program, the City would quit claim the
properties located at 601, 605, 611 Veterans Parkway and 311 and 315 6th Street
to Neighborworks Columbus, Inc. Since 2014, Neighborworks has provided 26
low-income residents with repairs to their homes totaling $421,956.93. Since
the requirements of the agreement have been met, Neighborworks is now
requesting that the properties be quit claimed in order to construct their new
office building at this location.
Analysis: Per the resolution Council authorized quit claiming these
properties to Neighborworks in exchange for funding and administering of an
owner-occupied rehabilitation program for low-income households totally
$220,000. By providing $421,956.93 to 26 low-income families in Columbus,
Neighborworks has satisfied the requirement of the contract.
Financial Considerations: Quit claiming this property to Neighborworks will
have not financial impact on the City.
Legal Considerations: Council must approve all matters related to real estate.
Recommendations: Approval is requested to quit claim the properties located at
601, 605, 611 Veterans Parkway and 311 and 315 6th Street to Neighborworks

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO QUIT CLAIM THE PROPERTIES LOCATED
AT 601, 605, 611 VETERANS PARKWAY AND 311 AND 315 6TH STREET TO NEIGHBORWORKS
COLUMBUS, INC. PER RESOLUTION 38-14 FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF AN OWNER-OCCUPIED
REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, On January 14, 2014, Per Resolution 38-14 City Council approved the

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to quit claim the properties located
at 601, 605, 611 Veterans Parkway and 311 and 315 6th Street to Neighborworks
Columbus, Inc. per resolution 38-14 for the administration of an owner-occupied
rehabilitation program.
