AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING POLICIES REGARDING ACCEPTABLE AND SUPPORTABLE USE OF
TECHNOLOGIES:
WHEREAS, The Department of Information Technology, in conjunction with
various city officials, has developed updated policies relating to the use of
computing technologies; and,
WHEREAS, adoption of this ordinance shall repeal and replace Resolution
No. 244-99 and, therefore, replace policies numbered 210-1000-001, 210-1000-002
and 210-1000-003; and,
WHEREAS, all departments, agencies, boards and entities of the Columbus
Consolidated Government will function under one set of computer related
policies; and,
WHEREAS, all users, including personnel and employees, of all
departments, agencies, boards and entities of the Columbus Consolidated
Government will operate in a more productive and efficient computer
environment; and,
WHEREAS, Addendum 1 provides clarification on some usage which is
prohibited by the policy regarding acceptable and supportable use of
technologies and is attached to the original policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
The City Manager, with the assistance and direction of the Director of
the Department of Information Technology, is hereby authorized to implement the
Acceptable and Supportable Use of Technology Policy numbered as: 210-1000-004
and Addendum 1 thereto which are incorporated herein by reference and attached
as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia,
held the 26th day of March, 2019, introduced a second time at a regular meeting
of said Council held on the _______ day of ________________ 2019, and adopted
at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ______ members of said Council.
