       MINUTES OF MEETING
 March 23, 2010
The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull
Creek Golf Course. Members present were Nancy Wilkeson, Rev. Hill, Richard
Hagler, Floyd Washington, Carl Williams, Rhudine Nelson, and Rudy Allen.
Michael Silverstein and Aubry Burt had an excused absence. Staff member
 present was John Milam.
Minutes of the February 23, 2010 meeting were approved as presented. Motion
made by Rev. Hill and seconded by Floyd Washington.
 Old Business
 None.
 New Business
Mr. Milam informed the authority members that four months ago, the snack bar
received a score of 70 from the health inspectors. Bull Creek no longer has an
exterminating contract and has begun self-exterminating. The other minor
 issues have been corrected.
Retired city employees and First Tee volunteers receive free green fees. Those
wishing to walk the course will pay a walking fee of $2.00 for nine holes and
$3.00 for 18 holes. If they wish to ride in a cart, they will pay the normal
cart rate. These fees were established because more volunteers and retirees
 are walking.
 Superintendent Report by John Milam
Bull Creek has received 3.55 inches of rain since March 1st. Year?to-date
 rainfall stands at 10.80 inches.
 The greens are being mowed daily.  Cleaning up fallen trees and branches;
cutting down dead trees; and the pampas grass on the course has been trimmed.
The oil has been changed in all carts. The rotten boards on the fences have
 been replaced.
Steve Brown has been in the hospital with a staph infection. The infection is
opened and repacked daily. Steve is expected to be out of work for the next
 week.
 Godwin Creek
Godwin Creek had a yard sale to benefit the First Tee program and raised about
$800.00. Activity at Godwin Creek is slow and they are struggling.
 Director of Golf
The year-to-date statistics from Oxbow Creek and Bull Creek are the largest
deficit numbers Mr. Milam has ever seen. It seems that both courses are closed
just as much as they are open due to rain. Revenues for Oxbow Creek were
$4,500 less in February ?10 compared to the same time the previous year.
Through the 16th of March, 2010, revenues were down by $1,600 compared to the
 same time last year.
Revenues for Bull Creek were $17,000 less for February ?10 compared to the same
time the previous year. Through the 18th of March, revenues were down by
$7,000 compared to the same time last year. Mr. Milam stated that the course
is drying out and greening up.
One tournament has been re-scheduled at Bull Creek and no tournaments have been
 cancelled due to the rain.
Richard Hagler adjourned the meeting at 4:15 p.m.
 Respectfully submitted,
 Nancy Wilkeson, Secretary
