RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the Columbus State University Cougars men?s tennis team recently
advanced to the National Semifinals;
WHEREAS, the Cougars defeated Augusta State 5-0, Georgia College & State
University 5-3, West Virginia Wesleyan 5-0, Northwood (Michigan) 5-1 and lost a
heartbreaking round to Valdosta State 5-0 in the Semifinals;
WHEREAS, the CSU Cougars hosted the Southeast Regional for the first time in
school history;
WHEREAS, at the Peach Belt Conference Awards the Columbus Cougars Men?s Tennis
Team received the Team Sportsmanship Award;
WHEREAS, among the tennis players, Frank Suarez is a three-time All American,
Christophe Noblet finished the year ranked 11th in the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association Doubles, Filip Cojbasic was named to the 2010 Intercollegiate
Tennis Association All-Academic Scholar-Athlete Award and Diego Motivar (2nd
team) was named to the Peach Belt Confere3nce All-Academic Team;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the 2010 Columbus State University Cougars
Men?s Tennis team are worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus State
University men?s tennis team upon advancing to the National Semifinals and
their outstanding 2010 season: Filip Cojbasic, Gordan Divljak, Nemanja Djuric,
Diego Motivar, Christophe Noblet, Martin Shiskov, Olivier Simonet, Daniel
Stomberg, Frank Suarez and Head Coach Evan Isaacs and Assistant Coach Eva
Petschnig. Columbus is proud of this team and we wish them every success in the
future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named
participants.

24th day of August, 2010 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
