SUBJECT: Resurfacing Services Contract
INITIATED BY: Department of Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested to procure resurfacing services from
Robinson Paving Company in the amount of $2,084,976.64 on various city streets
as identified from the City's Pavement Management System.
Background: Resolution No. 365-13 authorized the City Manager to
purchase general road repair services on an "as needed" basis from Robinson
Paving Company. The Department of Engineering has identified streets in the
Pavement Management System that need to be resurfaced.
Analysis: Resurfacing/Road Improvements was identified as one of the approved
expenditures for use of the TSPLOST Discretionary Funds. $1.5 million dollars
is available as part of TSPLOST Discretionary Funds and the remainder of the
cost would come from the Paving Fund.
Financial Considerations: The estimated cost for resurfacing on this contract
is $2,084,976.64
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: Resurfacing is budgeted annually
each year in the Capital Improvement Program from various funds.
Legal Considerations: Council requested all expenditures from the TSPLOST
Discretionary Funds be approved prior to expending funds.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the resolution to procure resurfacing
services from Robinson Paving Company in the amount of $2,084,976.64 on various
city streets as identified from the City's Pavement Management System.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESURFACING OF VARIOUS CITY STREETS IDENTIFIED IN THE
PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO BE PERFORMED BY ROBINSON PAVING COMPANY UNDER
CONTRACT 14-0018 IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,084,976.64.
WHEREAS, Resolution authorized the procure of resurfacing/road repair services
from Robinson Paving Company on an as needed basis; and,
WHEREAS, a list of street has been identified in Pavement Management System as
needing resurfacing; and,
WHEREAS, Council has requested all expenditures from the TSPLOST Discretionary
Funds be approved by Council prior to expending funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to procure resurfacing services from
Robinson Paving Company in the amount of $2,084,976.64 on various city streets
as identified in the Pavement Management System. Funds of $1,500,000 are
available in the TSPLOST Discretionary Funds for Road Improvements not yet
allocated and the Paving Fund.
