REFERRALS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL
COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 17, 2015
TO THE CITY MANAGER:
OFF-PREMISES ALCOHOL ORDINANCE:
There was an ordinance introduced on the City Attorney?s Agenda amending
Section 3-5 of the Columbus Code removing all distance restrictions for
off-premises sales of alcohol by grocery stores in certain zoning districts. A
request was made for the ordinance to be sent through the Columbus Police
Department and Yvonne Ivey before the vote is taken at the next meeting.

A request was made for future ordinances that pertain to the sale of alcohol to
have a staff report attached for the Council?s information. (Request of Mayor

RESOLUTION REQUEST:
A request was made for a resolution for Ms. Miram Halic. (Request of Councilor
Barnes)

LEASE AGREEMENT PROCESS:
Mr. Jerry Jackson addressed the Mayor and Council on the Public Agenda in
reference to the possibility of leasing City owned property for the use of
parking for Forrest Road Church of Christ. During the discussion, a request was
made for information regarding the legal process used by the City during the
lease agreement process. (Request of Mayor Tomlinson)

AQUATIC CENTER UPDATE:
Director Dr. James Worsley made a presentation giving an update on the Aquatic
Center. During the discussion, a request was made for information on what would
have to be eliminated if the operation hours of the facility were to be reduced
to 56 hours. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

During the discussion, a request was made for a detailed sales and marketing
plan for the Aquatic Center. (Request of Councilor Davis)

After discussion on the different options for operational hours, a request was
made for Parks and Recreation to provide a detailed list, including
explanations for each hour model. (Request of City Manager Hugley)

In addition to the referral made by City Manager Hugley, a request was made for
the list to include the current operation schedule. (Request of Councilor
Thomas)

TAX ASSESSOR?S SOFTWARE:
At the conclusion of the City Manager?s Agenda, a request was made for an
update on the process of upgrading the software in the Tax Assessor?s Office,
to include when it will be implemented. (Request of Councilor Davis)

TADs:
A request was made for large maps, similar to the ones provided to the
Councilors, of the four proposed TADs to be placed on display in the Council
Chambers for the public. (Request of Councilor Thomas)

A request was made for a resolution for the Columbus High School Girls
Volleyball Team. (Request of Councilor Henderson)
