CITY ATTORNEY'S AGENDA
FOR THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 27, 2016
O R D I N A N C E S:
(1) 2nd Reading - REZN-06-16-1242 - A request for rezoning of 5.5 acres located
at 3383 N. Lumpkin Road is currently zoned as LMI (Light Manufacturing and
Industrial) zoning district. The proposed zoning is GC (General Commercial)
zoning district. (Owner: Stephanie Coley) (District 3 Councilor Huff) The
proposed use is community theater with use of adult day care. The Planning
Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval.
(2) 2nd Reading - REZN-06-16-1220 - A request for rezoning of 1.5 acres located
at 4847 Miller Road is currently zoned as SFR1 (Single Family Residential 1)
zoning district. The proposed zoning is LMI (Light Manufacturing and Industrial
1) zoning district. (Owner: Robert Q. Aber) (District 5 Councilor Baker) The
proposed use is commercial rental equipment center. The Planning Advisory
Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval.
(3) 2nd Reading - REZN-08-16-1606 - A request for rezoning of 0.21 acres
located at 2417 14th Avenue is currently zoned as LMI (Light Manufacturing and
Industrial 1) zoning district. The proposed zoning is SFR4 (Single Family
Residential 4) zoning district. (Owner: Columbus Area Habitat) (District 8
Councilor Garrett) The proposed use is single family residential. The Planning
Advisory Commission recommend approval and the Planning Department recommend
conditional approval.
(4) 2nd Reading ? An Ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,
Georgia by establishing a list of roadways approved for the use of speed
detection devices on behalf of the Columbus Consolidated Government; and for
other purposes. (Mayor Pro-Tem)
(5) 2nd Reading ? An Ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,
Georgia by establishing a ?No Parking Anytime? zone along the entire curb
length on the western and eastern curb including the cul-de-sac of Chattsworth
Court; authorizing the installation of official traffic control signs
indicating these parking restrictions; repealing any conflicting ordinances and
for other purposes. (Councilor Allen)
(6) 2nd Reading ? An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 16-17, the budget
for the Fiscal Year 2016, beginning July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017, for
certain positions in the Department of Inspections and Codes of the
Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia; and for other purposes. (Budget
Review Committee)
(7) 1st Reading ? An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 16-17, the budget for the
Fiscal Year 2016, beginning July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017, for certain
positions in the District Attorney?s Victim Witness Assistance Program; and for
other purposes. (Budget Review Committee) (Delayed from September 13, 2016
council meeting)
R E S O L U T I O N S:
(8) Expressing sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of
Jaimie B. DeLoach. (Columbus Council)
(9) Authorizing and directing the Internal Auditor of the Consolidated
Government to conduct a special audit of the Muscogee County Sheriff?s Office
in order to assure that the financial interests of the CCG are protected.
