SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Westwind Drive located in
Section Six - Crosswinds
INITIATED BY: Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that
portion of Westwind Drive located in Section Six - Crosswinds.
Background: That portion of Westwind Drive located in Section Six - Crosswinds
has (14) Fourteen residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the
required specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of
Westwind Drive located in Section Six - Crosswinds. A description of property
is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in
Land Lot 40 of the 18th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown
as extension of Windward Drive lying in Section Six of Crosswinds Subdivision,
as said road and right-of-way is shown on the map or plat entitled "Section
Six, Crosswinds Lying in Land Lot 40, 18th District, Columbus, Muscogee County,
Georgia" prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated January 14, 2011, said
recorded in Plat Book 163, page 7, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested to accept a deed to that
portion of Westwind Drive located in Section Six - Crosswinds.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF WESTWIND
DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION SIX, CROSSWINDS ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Westwind Drive located in Section Six, Crosswinds, a full description of
property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated March 11, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia
that portion of Westwind Drive located in Section Six, Crosswinds be and the
same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said
deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this
reference made a part of this resolution.
