I. EXPANSION OF CURRENT CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLOTION (C&D) AT PINE GROVE
MSW LANDFILL:
Approval is requested to outline and highlight the site for the expansion of
our current C & D (Construction and Demolition) landfill. The current landfill
has a life expectancy of 2.8 years. Based on current usage, this expansion
could provide 100 plus additional years of use. In order to move forward with
permitting the expansion/modification for the landfill and for us to move
forward with the design and construction, EPD requires approval of the proposed
expansion site. The 7.6 acre expansion area is located between the current
active C & D disposal area (Pine Grove) and the inactive portion of Pine
Grove.
II. GEORGIA CLASSIC MAIN STREET PROGRAM:
Approval is requested to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Georgia
Department of Community Affairs to maintain Columbus' Local Main Street
designation by the National Main Street Center and appoint Uptown Columbus to
serve as the Local Main Street Program Board of Directors. Uptown Columbus
agrees to fulfill the financial requirements.
III. DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON IRONSTONE DRIVE:
Approval is requested to dispose of a portion of the property (.096 acres)
located at 5646 Rockhurst Drive, adjacent to 5745 Ironstone Drive for $3,302
which covers the cost of the quit claiming the property, surveying work,
appraisal fee, attorney and title fees. The property is of no appreciable
monetary value and is not needed for any public purposes.

1. Waste Collection Services (Annual Contract)
Scope of RFP
Columbus Consolidated Government is seeking proposals from waste haulers to
provide waste collection services on an as-needed basis for Columbus, Muscogee
County, Georgia.
The initial term of the contract will be for five (5) years with the City?s
option to renew for five (5) additional twelve-month periods.
