SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Lemongrass Drive and that

portion of Lemongrass Way located in Section One Courtland Ridge.



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass Way located in

Section One, Courtland Ridge.



Background: That portion of Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass

Way located in Section One Courtland Ridge has (15) Fifteen residential lots.

The streets have been improved and meet the required specifications for

acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass Way located in Section One

Courtland Ridge. A description of property is as follows: All those tracts and

parcels of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia,

and comprising of a portion of Lemongrass Drive and a portion of Lemongrass

Way, in that certain subdivision known as Section One, Courtland Ridge, as said

portions of said streets are shown upon a map or plat said subdivision recorded

in Plat Book 162, folio 336-337 in the office of the Clerk of the Superior

Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: The City will assume maintenance

after the two-year warranty ends.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass Way located in

Section One Courtland Ridge.





















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF LEMONGRASS

DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF LEMONGRASS WAY LOCATED IN SECTION ONE, COURTLAND

RIDGE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass Way located in Section One,

Courtland Ridge, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated January 14, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Lemongrass Drive and that portion of Lemongrass Way located in

Section One, Courtland Ridge be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of

Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in

the Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is

hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
