I am pleased to share with you the 2005 NeighborWorks Columbus Annual Report.
This report will give you a snapshot of what we accomplished in 2005.
2006 is shaping up to be another terrific year. We will begin the HOPE VI
homes in East Wynnton Park. Some of these will be a new plan for the
neighborhood, as we offer two story Craftsman Cottages. These new homes will
make a visual statement to all that drive down Buena Vista Road that East
Wynnton Park has become a neighborhood of choice, and is ?the place to live?.
2006 will also see NeighborWorks Columbus moving aggressively in the Beallwood
neighborhood. We have begun our first Earthcraft (Green Builder) homes in
Beallwood. These homes will exemplify energy efficiency for our clients. Our
?Green Team? has put much time and thought into these homes. We have been
fortunate to acquire numerous buildable lots in this target neighborhood, and
are working with our cop-on-the-block program for Beallwood.
In East Highlands we will continue to acquire properties in anticipation of
this neighborhood being our third targeted area for revitalization. We are
very blessed to have a strong and committed group of residents working to
eliminate crime and provide a safe haven for its children. We look forward to
continuing to support their efforts.
Last, but not least, Winterfield in Columbus South, will become a focus for us
as we move through 2006.
Here is wishing you a happy, and prosperous, new year. If you have any
questions about the report, or what we have planned in the future, please do
not hesitate to call.
