Law: Ordinance No. 06-44, Section 10. Taxes shall become due August 1, and

delinquent

October 2. Taxpayer shall have the option to pay 40% on or before October 1 and

60% on or before December 1 without penalty. Upon failure to pay 40% by October

1, the total shall become delinquent. Upon payment of 40% by October 1, the

remainder shall become delinquent December 2 if not paid on or before that

date. Any delinquent taxes shall be subject to 10% penalty, interest, and Fi

Fa, as provide by Georgia law.



Citizen Position: Wittichen Supply Company is a good corporate citizen, their

accounting department made an error in processing its check on November 15,2006

for property taxes due on October 1, 2006. Wittichen?s history reflects

payments before October 1 in previous years.



Tax Commissioner?s Position: The above referenced parcel payment was US Post

marked

November 22, after the due date of October 1,2006. It is therefore delinquent.

Wittichen

Supply Company has never been late with tax payments in the past. The total

(100%) taxes and penalty were paid November 27,2006. This office finds no

evidence of gross or willful neglect or disregard of the law by this business.



In accordance with GA Code 48-5-242 (written notification) please forward a

directing the Tax Commissioner as to the action (approval or denial of waiver)

the governing

authority wants taken.

Our accounting department made an error in processing your check on November15,

We made the error honestly and would have paid the entire amount before October

01.2005

again this year. Our historyreflectswe have paid the amount due before October

01, in previous pars.



Waichen Supply is a wholesale distributor of heating, ventilating. air

conditioning, and

refrigeration pads, equipment and supplies, which has been sewingthe industry

since I914, a span of 93 years with 23 branches, 19 in Alabama, 3 in Geofgia,

and 1 in Florida. The Columbus, Georgia area was sewed from our Opelika,

Alabama store prior to our management commitment to open a branch in Columbus.

In June 2000,Wiichen made a huae investment in our fuliy stocked stand-alone

branch in

Columbus, Georgia, fuffy staffed, end ready to serve the Columbus, Georgia

area.

Our Columbus, Georgia store has been a strong partner in continuing to keep

this city a strong and vibrant place to be a part of in our community.



I have been in this industryfor 35 years and have not seen or wo#x?d for a more

reputable company than Wiichen Supply Company.

Please consider their paying h&ory and waive the late charges that have been

paid.
