AN ORDINANCE 
                                NO.               
 An ordinance amending Columbus Code Section 2-1 so as to allow service of more    
 than two consecutive terms for certain boards; and for other purposes.

 THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:       
 SECTION 1.       
 Section 2-1 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the second    
 sentence in its entirety and by substituting new second and third sentences to    
 read as follows:       
 ? Appointees appointed hereunder who have served two consecutive full terms    
 shall not be eligible to succeed themselves until the lapse of 12 months from    
 the end of said terms. This limitation shall not apply to permanent full-time    
 employees of the consolidated government who are serving in appointed    
 positions, to the Muscogee County Board of Elections, to the Columbus, Georgia    
 Employees? Pension Plan Board of Trustees, to the Columbus Airport Commission,    
 to the Board of Honor, to the Columbus Housing Authority, to the Medical Center    
 Hospital Authority, to the Columbus, Georgia Hospital Authority, to the    
 Columbus Building Authority, to the Downtown Development Authority, to the    
 Resource Recovery Development Authority, or to any other board or authority    
 where state law permits service of more than two consecutive full terms.?                    
 SECTION 2.       
 	All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance    
 are hereby repealed.
