SUBJECT: Acceptance of a Deed for additional Right-of-Way adjacent to
Old Double Churches Road
INITIATED BY: Community Reinvestment
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a portion of
property along Double Churches Road, .038 acres.
Background: Bagwell Properties, Inc. has requested to deed future right-of-way
along Old Double Churches Road to the City. The plat was recorded on July 11,
2013 in plat book 164, page 8 for Land Lot 82, 8th District. There is a parcel
listed as ?Tract A? on the plat which states future right-of-way. The owner
does not own the adjacent property so this small parcel of no use to him. The
property will be used as right-of-way for a future road project.
Analysis: Property is road frontage along Old Double Churches Road. The
property is dedicated as right-of-way for a future road project.
Financial Considerations: The City will take over the maintenance of this
deeded right-of-way after acceptance of the Deed.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with the Section 18-3 of the Columbus
Code, all dedicated right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of
Council.
Recommendations: Approval is requested to accept a deed to Part of Land Lot
82, 8th District .038 acres adjacent to Old Double Churches Road for additional
right-of-way for future road improvements.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO PART OF LAND LOT 82, 8TH
DISTRICT 0.038 ACRES ALONG OLD DOUBLE CHURCHES ROAD AS RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FUTURE
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the owners of Bagwell Properties, Inc. has requested to deed property
along Old Double Churches Road to the City; and,
WHEREAS, the plat was recorded on July 11, 2013 in plat book 164, page 8 for
Land Lot 82, 8th District which lists ?Tract A? as future right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS, the right-of-way will be reserved for future road improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a deed to Part of Land Lot
82, 8th District .038 acres adjacent to Old Double Churches Road listed as
?Tract A? of the attached plat for additional right-of-way for future road
improvements.
