I. Call to order
Dr. Wise called the Columbus Board of Health to order at 1:00pm.

II. Approval of Minutes
Dr. Wise asked if there were any questions or comments on the previous minutes
received (June 25, 2014).
Dr. Wise asked for a motion to approve the minutes. A motion was made by Dr.
Agarwal, seconded by Dr. Lopez and approved by all members present.

III. District Health Director?s Report
Dr. Wise called on Dr. Townsend to give the Director?s Report;
Handout provided - Atlanta Journal Constitution article which talks about Title
X ? Family Planning Grant. Public Health did not receive this Grant for the
first time in 30 years. Public Health is working on restructuring the FP
program.

IV. Financial Report
Dr. Wise called on Joanne Strickland to present the financial report to the
Board. Ms. Strickland presented the following;
1. Written copy of the financial report and overview ending the year FY14
budget is $4,851,647 with five revisions.
2. Expenses were $4,851,646 ending the year with a savings of $93,526.21 from
same time last year.
3. Fees collected are $1,333,071 which is up from same time last year of
$45,061.
4. All other programs on target for 12 months of operation
5. Written copy of the financial report and overview for FY15 budget is
$5,281,396 with zero revisions.
6. Expenses were $370,511 with a savings of $13,775 from same time last year
7. Fees collected are $140,752 which is up from same time last year of $50,672.
8. All other programs on target for 1 month of operation

V. Program Reports
Dr. Wise asked if there were any Program reports.
1. Kristy Ludy was introduced as the new County Environmental Health Manager.
She reported the FDA visit Columbus to train staff on Food Service program.
They will pick local establishments to visit for inspections.
2. Dr. Rosemary Kelly was in town baiting mosquito traps recently, we will
receive her report soon.
3. Received word the State will provide payment of additional On Site Sewage
training for staff.
4. Karon Bush, District Nursing and Clinical Director provided report for
Nursing; the State supply of Flu vaccine has arrived. We are planning a Drive
by Flu Clinic on September 30th at the Civic Center.
