I. COLUMBUS CONVENTION AND VISITORS' BUREAU CONTRACT:



Authorization is requested to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement

with the Columbus Convention and Visitors' Bureau for appropriation of the

Hotel/Motel Tax and to designate the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau as

the official destination marketing organization for the City. An agenda

report, resolution and contract are attached.





II. FORT BENNING LANDSCAPING ENHANCEMENT PROJECT:



Authorization is requested to accept funding from the Georgia

Department of Transportation and to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding

with the Gateway Foundation for the Fort Benning Landscaping Enhancement

Project. An agenda report, resolution and Memorandum of Understanding are

attached.





III. ENTERPRISE ZONE TAX ABATEMENT - GLOVER-AUTEN FOODS AT 1333 CUSSETA ROAD:



Authorization is requested for tax abatements, under the Enterprise

Zone Act, for Glover-Auten Foods, a wholesale food service company, located at

1333 Cusseta Road. An agenda report and resolution are attached.





IV. WAIVING CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR TEMPORARY USES OR SPECIAL EVENTS - UDO:



Authorization is requested to waive Section 3.2.63.C and G.5 (A) (1) of the

Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) regulating temporary uses and special

events until January 1, 2010. An agenda report and resolution are attached.





V. COUNCIL OF JUVENILE COURT JUDGES OF GEORGIA - GRANT:



Authorization is requested to submit an application and if approved

accept additional funding from the Council of Juvenile Court Judges of Georgia

for a Purchase of a Service Grant. An agenda report and resolution are

attached.

VI. STREET ACCEPTANCE - GREENFIELD COURT, PORTION OF GREENFIELD

DRIVE AND PORTION OF WHISPER GLEN DRIVE:



Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Greenfield Court,

portion of Greenfield Drive and portion of Whisper Glen Drive located in

Section Two, Sable Oaks of Midland. The Department of Engineering has

inspected these streets and recommends the acceptance. An agenda report,

resolution and map are attached.

1. Recreation Building Improvements ? RFB No. 10-0002

Scope of RFB

Provide building improvements at Pop Austin, Carver Park, Woodland/Haygood,

Britt David Park (retaining walls) and Skateboard Park (gazebo). Work for the

recreation building improvements consists of concrete, carpentry, thermal and

moisture protection, doors and windows, finishes, specialties, mechanical and

electrical.



The Britt David Park retaining walls work consists of the removal of

deteriorating wood timbers (railroad ties) and the construction of concrete and

concrete block (CMU) retaining walls at the Football Concession Building. The

Skateboard Park (gazebo) requires the construction of a prefabricated metal

structure over an existing concrete slab.



2. Mid-Size SUV 4x4 ? RFB No. 10-0005

Scope of RFB

Provide one (1) mid-size SUV 4x4 for use by the Engineering Department.





3. Canopy & Awning ? PQ No. 10-0001

Scope of RFB

Provide and install a 24x24x34 (approximate) metal awning at the Animal Control

Center located at 4910 Milgen Road, a 46x24 (approximate) steel or aluminum

canopy at the Recycling Center located at 25 22nd Avenue and an 80x20x10

(approximate) freestanding metal or aluminum covering for the drop-off site at

the Recycling Center.



At least five (5) calendar days before the due date, each vendor is responsible

for performing a site visit. Schedule the site visit by calling Ms. Drale

Short (Animal Control Center) at 706-653-4512 and Mr. Les Moore (Recycling

Center) at 706-225-4681. Any questions/concerns resulting from the Site Visit

must be submitted in writing to the Purchasing Division.

1. Aerial & Ground Ladder Inspection & Testing Services (Annual Contract) ? RFB

No. 10-0004

Scope of Bid

Provide aerial and ground ladder inspection and testing services to the

Columbus Fire & EMS Department. The contract period will be for three (3)

years with the option to renew for two (2) additional twelve-month periods.

Scope of Bid

Provide alternators and starters to METRA Transit System on an ?as

needed? basis. The contract term will be for three years with the option to

renew for two additional twelve-month periods.

Scope of RFP

Provide proposal for bus advertising to be placed on the exterior and/or

interior of Department of Transportation/METRA buses. Contract term shall be

for two years with the option to renew for three (3) twelve-month periods.

Contract renewal will be contingent upon the mutual agreement of the City and

Contractor.

1. Commercial Zero-Turn-Radius Mowers ? RFB No. 10-0007

Scope of RFB

Provide four (4) Commercial Zero-Turn-Radius Mowers. The Right-of-Way

Maintenance and Cemetery divisions of the Public Services Department will use

the mowers.



2. Herbicide Spray Truck ? RFB No. 10-0008

Scope of RFB

Provide one (1) Herbicide Spray Truck to the Right-of-Way Maintenance Division

of the Public Services Department.



September 10, 2009

1. Maintenance Services for Security Surveillance Equipment for

Department of Transportation/METRA (Annual Contract) ? RFP No. 10-0003

A Mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference/Site Visit will be held on Thursday,

September 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., for the purpose of discussing this RFP, at

the Department of Transportation/METRA, 814 Linwood Blvd, Columbus, Georgia.

1. Renovations to 911 Center ? RFB No. 10-0006

Scope of RFB

Provide modifications to the City?s 911 Center to include the relocation of a

partition wall. The new wall will consist of metal studs and sheet rock. In

addition, electrical work, such as relocation of ceiling light fixtures and

lights, shall be included. Also, the contractor will be required to extend or

adjust the existing sprinkler heads. Finish work shall include painting and

1. Maintenance Services for Security Surveillance Equipment for Department of

Transportation/METRA (Annual Contract) ? RFP No. 10-0003

Scope of RFP

It is the intent of Columbus Consolidated Government (City) to enter into a

contractual agreement with a qualified contractor offering maintenance services

for Security Surveillance Services for Department of Transportation/METRA.

Contract term shall be for two years with the option to renew for three (3)

additional twelve-month periods. Contract renewal will be contingent upon the

mutual agreement of the City and the Contractor.
