SUBJECT: Donation of Seats for Recorders Court
INITIATED BY: City Manager?s Office
Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept the following donated seats
and accessories to be used in Recorders Court: 110 black seats, chair backs,
legs, armrests and anchor bolts to mount to concrete floors. The donor will
also provide instruction on the assembly and installation of the seats.
Background: In April, the City Manager received an email notifying of the
seats to be donated by Mr. Fred Van Noy. The donation of the seats is
expressly for Recorders Court. The value of the seats and accessories is
$14,000 - $17,000.
Analysis: The seats will be installed in Recorders Court and will be utilized
by persons attending court proceedings.
Financial Considerations: This will be at no cost to the City as it is a
private donation.
Legal Considerations: Council must approve the acceptance of this donation.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the donation of the seats and accessories,
to include: 110 black seats, chair backs, legs, armrests and anchor bolts to
mount to concrete floors; as well as, the instruction on the assembly and
installation of the seats.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF SEATS AND ACCESSORIES TO INCLUDE: 110
BLACK SEATS, CHAIR BACKS, LEGS, ARMRESTS AND ANCHOR BOLTS TO MOUNT TO CONCRETE
FLOORS, AS WELL AS, INSTRUCTION ON THE ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION OF THE SEATS,
DONATED BY MR. FRED VAN NOY; AND EXPRESSING THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO MR. FRED
VAN NOY.
WHEREAS, in April, the City Manager received an email notifying of the seats
to be donated by Mr. Fred Van Noy. The donation of the seats is expressly for
Recorders Court. The value of the seats and accessories is $14,000 - $17,000;
and,
WHEREAS, the seats will be installed in Recorders Court and will be utilized by
persons attending court proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the donated seats
and accessories, to include: 110 black seats, chair backs, legs, armrests and
anchor bolts to mount to concrete floors; as well as, the instruction on the
assembly and installation of the seats to be installed in Recorders Court.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held
