A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Walton Glenn Eller, III, recently became an Olympic champion by
hitting 190 of 200 clay targets in the Men?s Double Trap Competition held in
Beijing, China;
WHEREAS, Private First Class Eller, from Katy, Texas, is stationed at Ft.
Benning, Georgia;
WHEREAS, he has been in the Olympics twice, before, placing 15th in Sydney and
17th in Athens;
WHEREAS, Private Eller took a four-shot lead into the final round of 25 double
targets after missing his first two shots in Beijing, China;
WHEREAS, he set an Olympic record and outshot 2004 gold medalist Ahmed
Almaktoum of the United Arab Emirates;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Private First Class Glenn Eller are worthy of
special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Private First Class Glenn Eller upon his
Gold Medal in the Men?s Double Trap Competition for the 2008 Olympic Games.
Columbus is proud of Glenn Eller and we wish him success in the future. Let a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to Private First Class Walton Glenn Eller,
III.
