SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Silverado Drive and that

portion of Sorrel Court located in Section VI, Sonoma Pointe and Section VI,

Stone Creek.



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested to rescind Resolution #204-10 due to

duplicate street name and approve the acceptance of a deed to that portion of

Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court located in Section VI, Sonoma

Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek.



Background: That portion of Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court

located in Section VI, Sonoma Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek has (24)

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court located in Section VI, Sonoma

Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek. A description property is as follows: All

those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 31 & 34 of

the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Sorrel Court

and Extension of Silverado Drive, as said roads and right-of-way are shown on

the map or plat entitled "Replat of Section Six, Sonoma Pointe & Replat of Lot

47, Block "A", Section Six Stone Creek, Lying in Land Lots 31, & 34, 9th

District, Columbus Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared by Hobbs Smith &

Associates, Inc., dated June 30, 2010, said plat recorded in Plat Book 162,

page 263, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia.



Rescinding Resolution #204-10 which was accepted on 06/15/2010 with a duplicate

street name.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court located in Section

VI, Sonoma Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek rescinding Resolution # 204-10

due to duplicate street name.

















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TO RESCIND RESOLUTION #204-10 DUE TO DUPLICATE STREET

NAME AND APPROVE THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF SILVERADO DRIVE

AND THAT PORTION OF SORREL COURT LOCATED IN SECTION VI, SONOMA POINTE AND

SECTION VI, STONE CREEK.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court located in Section VI, Sonoma

Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek, a full description of property on said

deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

WHEREAS, Resolution # 204-10 is rescinded due to duplicate street name.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

I.

That Resolution #204-10, dated June 15, 2010 is hereby rescinded due to

duplicate street name; and,

II.

That certain deed dated July 20 2010, conveying Columbus, Georgia that

portion of Silverado Drive and that portion of Sorrel Court located in Section

VI, Sonoma Pointe and Section VI, Stone Creek be and the same is hereby

accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded

in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a

part of this resolution.
