An ordinance authorizing the members of the Columbus, Georgia Pension Board of
Trustees to serve more than two consecutive terms of office; and for other
purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 2-1 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the second
sentence in its entirety and by substituting a new second sentence to read as
follows:
?Appointees appointed hereunder who have served two consecutive full terms
shall not be eligible to succeed themselves until the lapse of 12 months from
the end of said terms; provided, however, that such limitation shall not apply
to permanent, full-time employees of the consolidated government who are
serving in appointed positions, to the Muscogee County Board of Elections and
Registration, the Board of Honor, or to the Columbus, Georgia Pension Board of
Trustees.?
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
